We caught up with a new friend, Lyle Lawson, to show us around for an afternoon in Austin. We asked her to show us her top ‘do, eat and see’ in the retro city that she calls home… and that we have come to love!
Must ‘Do’
A strip lined with vintage stores, one off shops, retro signs and cute cafes ~ what more could a girl want. It felt like a trip down memory lane stumbling into Allen’s Boots {some of which you may remember from our campaign in Austin back in 2020}…
Must ‘Eat’
If you’re wanting a retro diner experience, then Joann’s Fine Foods is where you’ll find it. Interiors pulled straight from your favourite movie and food that we’d rate five stars ~ Joann’s is a stop you’re not going to want to miss. Check out Austin Motel while you’re there, a renovated old-school motel!
Must ‘See’
Up for an adventure? We followed Lyle up Mount Bonnell to view the city from above… An easy hike for those wanting to escape to nature, and just a 20 minute drive out of the city! The perfect view point of the Lake Austin part of the Colorado River.
