Tell us about your journey in the fashion industry?

I always had a dream of ‘working in fashion’. When I was a teenager I loved the magazines, the fashion blogspots, tumblr, & lookbook! The amount of HYPEs I gave out on that platform & screensaved looks on my desktop was A LOT. I would spend hours looking, and just knowing I wanted to work where ‘those people’ worked. Little did I know it was a thing that most people did for fun. Eventually, I started doing it for fun too! As it turns out my current job didn’t really exist yet … I studied Design in university with the intention to pursue textile design when I finished, but somehow I ended up here and wouldn’t change a thing about my journey!

Do you recall your first fashion memory?

I remember when I was in my early teens I was able to start wearing clothes my mum had kept from her youth in the 70s & 80s. I started wearing her clothes throughout my high school years as there was a huge revival in vintage fashion so everything she had was trendy! Being able to say “it’s vintage” when anyone liked my look gave young me a thrill, knowing my outfit was completely unique! My wardrobe still contains some of those pieces to this day, the quality of how pieces were made really demonstrates the importance of valuing slow fashion.

How would you define your style? What is your thought process behind the way you curate your wardrobe?

I love having a one of one outfit, which is why I love vintage fashion … it would probably also tell you I’m a Leo, hehe. But I am definitely all about comfort too. I don’t like my legs to be restrained by pants, which is why I’ve always been a Spell girl!! Floaty dreamy dresses to match my headspace and mood is probably the best way to describe how I like to dress. I’m definitely more of a feminine dresser too, as I am 100% a
cottage core lover.

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

In literally anything & everything. I could be walking past a bush of flowers or a beautifully painted mural, I could spot a piece of jewelry in a shop window and then go on to dedicate a whole series of photos to an idea or image I see in my head. The changing seasons as a huge inspiration to me, as are colours! If I vibe with a certain hue I could revolve my life around
it for a moment!

Top 3 wardrobe essentials?

For me, a white linen maxi dress, a cable knit sweater for all seasons, and actually … a really good pair of white sneakers! As a sandal gal most days, sneakers that go with everything have been my go to lately.

Who are the woman that inspire you?

Women in business! I am constantly surrounded by so many amazing women killing it in their craft. They are all forces to be reckoned with, it’s incredible. All the women in my life inspire me!! My mother, my sister, my girlfriends of 15 years. I am surrounded by amazing, passionate people & am so grateful.

Would you say your style has changed post-pandemic?

In ways, yes! You would have caught me in sweats for all of 2020 and the first half of this year, but who else wasn’t? I’ve definitely leaned way more into being comfortable at all times.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I’m super content currently in work & in life, but hopefully I’ll have grown and learned a lot more just like I have over the last five years!
