As a brand who loves a print, sometimes it feels hard to do something that feels new. For Elysian Moon we looked at a way to blend our heritage spirit with modernity. We captured this beautifully in our Sannah print ~ batik inspired, we wanted to capture the breath taken feeling of looking at a hand crafted batik design. I’ve done batik before and it’s so hard. Using a little pipe tool with melted wax to create what would become negative space ~ it was a joyful though humbling practice! Sannah was named after our mother…. we loved to hide under her floor length batik skirts when we were little girls. Batik skirts from Indonesia where she lived for a while during her 20s were often wrap skirts so there was a perfect opening for her four daughters to sneak inside and cause all manner of embarrassing moments for her, we her four little ragamuffins, lifting the skirt and hiding and playing.
Elysian Moon embodies the spirit of luxe bohemia with flashes of dark glamour, this richly textured collection transports us to vast landscapes.
Layering perfectly with luminous prints, luxe fringing and decadent embroidery, this collection recalls the insouciant glamour of bygone eras, pulled from our memories and dizzy imaginations.
